The www.globtra.com system is a free directory and a job posting service for translators, translation agencies and translation buyers.

It also includes discussion forums, links directory and many other features for translators, like creating your own  webpage in many language versions and choosing one of the predefined designs.

It's already got over 4000 6000 translators and is growing fast.

The job posting system works as follows:

• A translation agency or a private person posts a job, i.e. describes what is to be translated (e.g. "a financial report, 15 pages")
• Matching translators are automatically informed by e-mail
• The can post their offers for the job by logging in to thei accounts in the GlobTra system
• Then the service buyer manually selects a translator and contact data is exchanged (Therefore not the lowest price has to win). It is also crucial to have a well-described profile!
• At the end - both parties rate each other to help future users and to encourage high quality of the work
